Box Elder County Portfolio’s and Record Books
Portfolio’s and Record Books are due early October. Youth raising livestock are REQUIRED to turn in a record book or portfolio to receive their livestock check. Failure to complete and submit a record book by January 31, of the following year, will make the exhibitor ineligible to sell an animal in the following junior livestock sale.
Why do a Portfolio?
Record books are a more condensed version of the Portfolio. Benefits of the 4-H Portfolio include participating in the county contest(s) with cash prizes, gaining record keeping skills, entering state contests in the 9th-12th grade, applying for National Congress, ability to apply for 4-H Scholarships, etc. It is also nice to have one book with all of your 4-H experiences neatly organized for use as you apply for other scholarships, college, and employment following your 4-H years.
